Exeter-based label Hometown Atrocities have uncovered an early pre-Radiohead recording featuring Thom Yorke. Thom played guitar in the band Headless Chickens during the late 80′s while at Exeter University. Their song “I Don’t Want To Go To Woodstock” appears on the compilation CD “Year Zero/The Exeter Punk Scene 1977 – 2000″, available by mail order directly from Hometown Atrocities or at Opal Music. Year Zero also comes with a lavish 28 page booklet jam packed with photos and information dating right back to the scenes very beginnings in 1975 and ’76 as well as a complete Exeter punk A-Z.
