Colin, Ed & Phil were guests on XFM’s Zoe Ball show today, where the band confirmed that ‘Go To Sleep’ will be the next single’.
Ed: “The setlists are decided over lunch at that day. Basically what you feel like doing that evening. It keeps everyone on their toes.”
Ed: “Kid A is probably the most pure record we’ve made.” (..) Phil said that the band felt more confident than before when recording Hail To The Thief at the Ocean Way Studios in San Francisco.
XFM played There There B-sides ‘Paperbag Writer’ and ‘Where Bluebirds Fly’. Colin: “Thom did Paperbag writer in LA. We did some drums on it in London”.
If you heard a newsreader messing up. No worries, it was Phil reading the news. He won’t do it again (hopefully).
The band were asked if they are planning any remixes. Colin: “We’re sending out some of the song out to some friends. Christian Vogel and Kieren from Four Tet, who is doing a remix for Scatterbrain”.
Bands that you respect: Colin: “Booker T and the MG’s, Four Tet” Phil: “Four Tet. Bands that play with us, really. You have to admire them for that.”
What’s the worst question you get asked. Ed: “On this record, regarding the album title ‘So, are you really Anti-American?”.
When asked which sites he frequents, Colin answered that he visits ateaseweb.com regularly.
