Radiohead ad censored in Singapore
Radiohead’s teaser ad for Hail To The Thief, has been censored by local tabloid, The New Paper. The ad had the lines: “We suck young blood. We want sweet meat. We want young blood. 6691-2033.” Readers were invited to call the number for a preview of There There. EMI Singapore, which distributes the album, did not agree to removing the last two lines in the ad and putting the song title, We Suck Young Blood, in quotes. An EMI spokesman said: “We felt that the ad would lose its essence if the changes were made.” The ad, which originated from the UK, ran on May 28 was discontinued. There were supposed to be four insertions for the ad. [Thanks Ben]
