Mike Skinner (aka the streets) mentions radiohead in an interview to the NY Times: “Everything I rap about is really just an example of me talking about myself,” he says. ”I mean, I could talk about this tape recorder, but I’d really just be talking about my perception of what it is. I’ve never been interested in the idea of someone being able to get anything they want out of a song. My sister, she thinks that you should be able to find your own meanings in songs. She likes Radiohead. I’m not like that. All that ‘I’m just a fish in the sea, I’m so lonely’ — that’s kind of rubbish. There is nothing on my record that you can’t understand literally.” [thanks robert, read it in full]
