Radiohead is everywhere
From Washington Square News (via U-wire): Nine New York University computer network users could be facing charges between $750 and $150,000 per file for distributing copyrighted music. NYU users were charged with distributing songs like “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead (owned by Capitol Records), “Criminal” by Fiona Apple (owned by Sony Music Entertainment) and “I’m Every Woman” by Whitney Houston (owned by Arista Records America).
The new liberal radio station, Air America, debuted Wednesday March 31, 2004. In between commercial breaks for the shows, Radiohead’s “National Anthem” was used several times.
Also, in the latest Vanity Fair magazine (with Keira Knightley on the cover) Zach Braff, from the TV show “Scrubs” said that “Sulk” was one of his Top 10 most dowloaded songs. (FANFAIR section, pg.126.)
In popular british soap opera ‘Eastenders’, there was a scene out side a market stall on monday. The market stall had a line of the Radiohead album ‘The Bends’ with the face clearly visible.
Dutch drama series ‘Rozengeur & Wodka Lime’ on RTL4 had Radiohead’s ‘Talk Show Host’ playing in the background in one of the recent episodes.
Hiphopsite.com lists a weird radiohead LP, entitled, ‘Ale to the Thief’. If you want to get a (vinyl) copy, order it here for $8,00.
In an interview with Pulse, DJ’s Eyedea & Abilities were asked: “You guys are Radiohead fans. Does their music and the way it’s evolved influence you?”
Eyedea: They exemplify true musicianship. They’re always growing and expanding. I think Outkast is the same way. I think Radiohead and Outkast are the two modern popular groups who you can actually say that about. We take inspiration from everywhere. We’re inspired by groups who always try to change and get better.
And finally, a lengthy story on Radiohead’s ‘Exit Music’ on the website of 96.5 The Buzz. Read it here.
