Keane on Phil Selway’s Samaritans work

Drowned in Sound asked Tim from Keane: Where do you stand? Politics is politics, music is music?
Tim: “Bands like REM are still involved in local issues and the town they grew up in. I don’t know, we might get involved in things like that if we ever feel that we can bring something positive. I kind of admire people in a quiet way, like Phil Selway, from Radiohead, who goes and works for The Samaritans a couple nights a week and stuff, which is not something that’s made well known or pushed like part of their public profile.”
