Thom at Fylingdales

Posted on September 25th, 2004.

Thom Yorke held a speech at the Crucial National Demo at US defence base on the North York Moors at Fylingdales today. He talked for about 5 minutes in which he explained how he couldn’t believe Tony Blair has just decided to let the US use the UK in their Star Wars program without even consulting us. He lead the march up to the radar chanting “Blair is a poodle, woof woof”. [thanks Rick]

Neil Kingsworth, of Yorkshire CND, told the BBC: “It’s been a brilliant atmosphere, pleasant and peaceful yet lively at the same time. A lot of people came because of Thom Yorke and it’s wonderful that someone like him will take on such a complex issue. He told everyone how important it was for them to attend these protests and to keep plugging away as he cannot understand what right America has to be the policeman of the world.”

…and one more picture. Besides Ricks pictures there also some preview pictures available at Wireimage. [thanks Alex]
