Q101 protest against nixed Chicago shows

Posted on January 12th, 2006.

Nix a Radiohead concert and face the wrath of Chicago rock fans–or at least their backsides.

Q101 (101.1-FM) DJ Fook has issued a call to arms to protest the city’s decision to keep Radiohead from playing Millennium Park in June. In what Fook called “a very lame scheduling conflict,” the city reportedly denied Radiohead the stage because the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra is set to rehearse there on one of the proposed dates.

Accordingly, Fook listeners are planning to moon the Bean at around 6:30 Friday evening, and Q101 is arranging for a live band to cover Radiohead songs at the event. Now that’s justice. [from Chicago Tribune, thanks Patrick]
