Phil Selway talks to Billboard

Posted on June 14th, 2006.

After the first New York show at the Madison Square Garden Theatre, Phil Selway told Billboard.com the band is aware fans are flying in for the shows from all over the country, due to the brevity of the tour and its concentration in major markets. “Plus, we’re playing so many new songs,” he said. “We’re very lucky that our fans will allow us to do this.”

Selway added that there’s no timetable to release the follow-up to 2003’s “Hail to the Thief,” which will be Radiohead’s first album since parting ways with longtime label EMI. As previously reported, Yorke’s solo debut, “The Eraser,” arrives July 11 via XL Recordings. “It’s all Thom,” Selway says of “The Eraser,” of which he admits to being a huge fan. [thanks Lawrence]
