As reported earlier, Eliza Lumley has recorded her album ‘She Talks in Maths: Rediscovering Radiohead’. The album with 10 Radiohead interpretations is now available on iTunes.Besides the earlier mentioned preview of 4 tracks on her MySpace, there is also an exclusive track (‘Karma Police’) available at Fine Fine Music. The full album is available for download at iTunes, which already topped the Jazz chart of Apple’s music store.Eliza Lumley: “I was a choral scholar at Cambridge, doing Palestrina, Tallis and Byrd, and I think that style suits the Radiohead material really well. The lyrics are so fantastic; quite hard and angular – and the music is so beautiful when it’s stripped bare. I think I’ve discovered other sides to the songs in the process. Not that they’re better than the originals in any way!” she hastens to add.But why Radiohead? “After Cambridge I studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music, and was very interested in cabaret and jazz – Rodgers and Hart and all those wonderful songs. But I felt slightly estranged from the music I was listening to, and discovering. just being a student at the time; which I suppose was indie-rock. So, I started to experiment with that.”Full tracklisting is as follows:1 High and Dry2 Black Star3 Street Spirit4 Let Down5 No Surprises6 Karma Police7 Lucky8 How to Disappear Completely9 Creep10 Bullet Proof..
