Publishers sing new tune over web lyrics
In April this year US music publishers, with the help of digital media giant Gracenote, launched a legal alternative for finding lyrics on the web. Hosted by Yahoo!, the service will allow users to view lyrics from approximately 400,000 songs, and return to publishers a share of advertising revenue. Somehow it’s now clear what Warner/Chappell meant back in 2003.Here’s an interesting article from The Guardian on the subject.
