Radiohead webcast on New Year’s Eve and Day
A special performance by Radiohead will be aired exclusively in the USA by Current TV on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The band will be performing all of the tracks from its newest album, In Rainbows.
The broadcast is a taped, private, hour-long performance, which will run commercial-free on Current TV and on www.current.com simultaneously. Radiohead previously mentioned another webcast after their recent ‘Thumb’s Down’ webcast. Ed O’Brien said that they will be doing some more cover songs. One of them is most likely a track by Siouxsie and the Banshees. In the past week several webcast pictures were already posted over at Dead Air Space. “We are pleased to partner with Current for its innovative spirit” said Phil Costello, head of TBD Records, Radiohead’s US record label.

I will have a new years party with Mexican clan and then home to watch a concert that was designed for the poor and I appreciate that… Because after the scalpers get to it just after TicketHiker(TicketMaster) the concert tickets will be going for a couple of hundred and to a select few. But since its recorded for us, I will get a chance as well as many others will see a beautiful Radiohead concert for all our souls.

So the U.S. gets a TV Broadcast version and everyone else has to make do with a crappy webstream? Why do Radiohead think their non-U.S. fans don’t want to watch the performance in the highest possible quality? Sorry, that fucking SUCKS!

ATEASE… you are the shit! Everytime I wanted to here about Radiohead… There is so much cool stuff to peak my interest. I am so glad that Radiohead is performing a concert on Television. I would not be able to compete the internet and the millions of fans fighting over 40,000 or so in CLos Angeles, California tickets that the RICH would of got a hold of and us poor folk would have to wait in line for about 12 seconds and then hear the announcement that the concert is sold out… But not Good Ol’ Radiohead. Entertaining the folks around the world with an INTERNET FEED for the masses. Oh Yeah… Radiohead… Have a live concert and charge what you want for the fans… Millions of Dollars and Millions of Fans…
