Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ already had a narrow lead in the midweek album charts, but now the band’s seventh album has ended on the number 1 spot in the UK charts.
Radiohead took over from Leona Lewis’ ‘Spirit, which dropped to the number 3 position. Take That’s ‘Beautiful World’ was also a contender for the top spot, but lost to ‘In Rainbows’ today. Due to a slow week with album releases, ‘In Rainbows’ was the only new entry in the charts.
‘In Rainbows’ is also the top selling album on the UK iTunes chart, as well as in France, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and Portugal. Number 2 in the USA, Sweden and Switzerland. Number 3 in Germany, Austria, Spain and Norway. In Belgium and The Netherlands ‘In Rainbows’ ranked at number 4 on Apple’s digital charts.
