For the past week there have been rumours of Radiohead headlining an East coast version of Coachella in New Jersey.
URB reports that a high -level source confirmed Portishead to headline this year’s Coachella festival on Saturday night, according to a high-level source. The same source unequivocally denied rumors that Radiohead would appear at Coachella, but did confirm that the group would play the East Coast festival being planned by Coachella promoters Goldenvoice/AEG Live.
New York Times reported earlier this week that the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California will stage a three-day event in Liberty State Park, according to people briefed on the plans. The new festival, tentatively scheduled for August 8-10, will have Radiohead and Jack Johnson as rumoured headliners on which representatives for AEG declined to comment.
If all of the above goes ahead, it will be the first time in seven years for Radiohead to play Liberty State Park. The band played two headlining shows in August 2001 at the park in New Jersey.
