Thom the Builder

Posted on January 30th, 2008.

Thom Yorke worked as a builder for two weeks last summer, he has revealed. Thom did a fortnight’s manual labour helping out a friend, which he admits was “difficult.”

However, Yorke said the experience made him realise how easy he had it being in a band. “It’s not that fucking difficult”, he said. “I went and worked on my friend’s building site for two weeks over the summer, smashing bricks and stuff. “That was difficult. But it was nice smashing stuff up”, he told Rolling Stone.

I’d have him come round and fit in a kitchen. Aslon as he made sure his measurements were correct, I’ll not be having any of this 2+2=5 business :D

I can totally picture that too. haha. I know that his friend is used to it because he’s known Thom. But can you imagine doing manual labor with him? That would just be surreal.

Yes, but I think the question on everyone’s minds is: can he fix it?

He should get involved in Habitat for Humanity. Its a great cause and only a week manual labor. Plus the nights are so much fun. Getting up the next day is tough though.

He should do habitat. It would probably lead to so many more people volunteering and would require just a weeks work from him.

making a living from being in a famous band is an amazing way of life.
im surprised he was naive enough to think it was such a struggle. oh what 1 day of actual work does to a prima dona!

hahaha, he would have been the most useless labourer in the world, when was the last time you think he lifted anything heavy?
