Mark Ronson to release ‘Just’ on single

Posted on February 7th, 2008.

Mark Ronson is set to release his version of Radiohead’s ‘Just’ on single next week. The track was released for the first time two years ago.

After the success of Mark Ronson’s cover of ‘Valerie’, a new version of the Zutons track recorded with Amy Winehouse, ‘Just’ will be out on single this Monday in the UK, February 18th. Ronson recorded the song with Phantom Planet’s singer Alex Greenwald in 2006, when it was out on the Radiohead cover album, ‘Exit Music: Songs With Radio Heads’.

The new ‘Just’ is available on 2 CD singles and 10″ vinyl, which includes new remixes by Go! Team and DJ Premier. The track is also available on his album ‘Version’. A video was released in 2006, but a new video has been recorded and directed by Jim Canty. The video takes a spin at Radiohead’s classic video of ‘Just’. Because after all those years we still want to know: ‘What does the guy say at the end of the Just video?’

I don’t understand why people release covers of Radiohead songs. They’re almost certainly going to get shit from the majority of RH fans, and everyone else won’t care.
Not hating on this cover, just saying, it seems like a bad career move.

Mark Ronson deserves to be shot for crimes
against music. Not just for this but all
his other appalling covers. Does the man
have no talent? His entire album is ripped
off from other artists. He’s completely
unoriginal and deserves to die. I mean this
in all seriousness.

he doesn’t do anything to truly make the song his own. and what’s the point of recording a cover otherwise (let alone releasing it as a single)? but perhaps his own “sound” is just so bland and generic that he actually *can’t* make the song sound fresh. oh well. at least rh get some royalties from it.

I hate him, SO much, he Raped this song. I can’t stand him at all. Its awful - taking something amazing, removing the talent and adding trumpets?

Hate him HATE HIM HATE HIM HATE HIM. Agree with the shot comment.
