probably won’t be crap. if it’s anything like bonnaroo or coachella, i’m sure radiohead’s negotiated a full set. liberty state park is awesome. you’ll have fun at the ‘real’ show but then when you’re sitting in the ny area that weekend knowing radiohead’s doing 2 full sets in your backyard, you’ll be scalping tickets.

Actually the area they are playing in Golden Gate Park is a fantastic place to see and hear a show!!! Not at all like a Coachella or Bonnaroo setting. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is there every year and the setting is surprisingly intimate for an outdoor gen admin show. Just saw Jeff Tweedy there a few months ago- I recommend arriving at the crack of dawn to stake out your ground though. The configuration of the surrounding trees cramp the space a bit when crowded.

This festival is gonna be insane. Radiohead headlining in back to back nights. Who knows what they are gonna do. Anyone who thinks you have to see them in a theater is nutsw. I’ve seen them indoors and outdoors and they are great at both. The other bands playing on saturday are amazing to. Sunday sucks though, I didn’t eben buy a ticket.

You want to know why its not a real show? Let me show you what golden voice put together for 2004 when Radiohead played. I can name at least ten bands that I really wanted to see and another ten that I would be happy to see. With All Points West this year.. Besides Radiohead…there is maybe two bands I’d see.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one not interested in this lame lineup for the first NY area festival (that HAS THE WORD WEST in it - jeez). I love Radiohead (and will hopefully see KOL this summer too) and will be traveling to Philly for a real show! But I will miss the dirt, hours of waiting & standing, potential rain, sweating, assholes, having to pee but can’t leave, and of course the beach balls. NOT. Tower Theatre better get its audio equipment ready!!!!
(Betcha after this festival sells out RH announces another venue in the NY area. Interpol did the same thing last year- announced a show at the Borgata (AC), then a month later announced the MSG show. In any case, I’ll be at that RH show too…)

More is not always better. You can only really see 5 or 6 shows a day without running around and not having fun. The APW festival organizers say it is a different kind of festivla where everyone gets a full set. I’m sorry but metric, the roots, animal collective, kings of leon and radiohead in one day (saturday) is one of the best days of music you can see in my opinon. You can show me all sorts of festivals with better linups sure, but your not gonna get to see all the bands. This festival is sick and if anyone disagrees it’s probably just because they can’t be there for whatever reason. Radiohead two nights in a row is what really matters, and if what the organizers say is true they will play nice long set both nights.

I personally could care less about the other bands but intended on going Fri and Sat for Radiohead. Saturday was already sold out before I had a chance to try and get tickets late Friday afternoon! If anyone has an extra Saturday ticket, please email me at vertigopersona@yahoo.com. Thanks.
