Dead Air Space awarded by NME
Radiohead have won awards for their website/blog ‘Dead Air Space’ at last night’s NME Awards. The band missed out on the ‘big’ awards at the ceremony.
‘In Rainbows’ was nominated for Best Album, but the prize went to Klaxons’ ‘Myths Of The Near Future’. Pete Doherty received the most votes for ‘Hero Of The Year’, the category Thom Yorke was nominated in.
However, the band did win the John Peel Award for Musical Innovation and the award for Best Band Blog. Both awards were for Radiohead’s blog ‘Dead Air Space‘.

Yeah, the emotional depth, musical innovation, songcraft, consistent performance, distribution method and artwork were good on In Rainbows… but just better on the Klaxons’ CD.

Who cares? It’s the NME - I’m not surprised their hero of the year went to such a tosspot as Pete Doherty. In fact I’m amazed Radiohead won anything with such a shit magazine as the NME

1.Who the hell are The Klaxons?
2.Why was Pete Doherty even nominated for “hero of the year”? I thought that was some sort of bad joke. What a horrible message the NME is sending to its teenage readership!

NME is totally edgy giving an award to a male celebutaunt. Doing hard drugs is totally hardcore and takes talent. He’s not just a British male Britney Spears. Not at all.
