Radiohead to play Werchter on July 5th

Months ago, Radiohead were the first confirmed band for Belgian’s Rock Werchter Festival. The line-up has now been revealed, which confirms the Radiohead for the third day of the festival; Saturday July 5th.

And today a new batch of artists has been added, which makes the festival even more interesting. Neil Young, Moby, Beck, The Verve, Kings Of Leon, Babyshambles, Underworld, Soulwax, 2manydjs, The National, Duffy and Galactic have all been added to the schedule, which makes the Rock Werchter line-up look like this:

Thursday July 3

R.E.M., Lenny Kravitz, Mika, The Chemical Brothers, Counting Crows, Soulwax, 2manydjs, Air Traffic, Beirut, Chris Cornell, The National

Friday July 4
Neil Young, Moby, The Verve, Babyshambles, Digitalism, Duffy

Saturday July 5
Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Kings Of Leon, Editors, Roisin Murphy, The Hives, Gossip, KT Tunstall, Kate Nash, Galactic.

Sunday July 6
dEUS, Beck, Underworld, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks, Nightwish, Justice, John Butler Trio.

Band Of Horses are also confirmed, but it’s unsure which day they will play. Tickets for the festival go on sale tomorrow (March 1st) through www.proximusgoformusic.be

Still 22 names to go though; They’ll still add at least 1 or 2 big ones.

Werchter has propably the largest collection of big names in the whole world, but it’s also very commercial and not very cosy.
And with only 2 stages, there’s only two options: or they’ll put sigur ros on main stage before radiohead, so in broad daylight, or they’ll put them in the marquee during radiohead, meaning you get to see only one of the two…
