Prince covers ‘Creep’ at Coachella

Prince has covered Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ at his performance at the Coachella Festival last night.

The cover of Radiohead’s 1993 classic was performed with some adjust lyrics (”Baby, I think you’re special”), “a ripping guitar solo and extended falsetto crooning for a finale”. Prince also performed The Beatles’ ‘Come Together’ on his set.

Since Radiohead played ‘Creep’ themselves in 2004 at the festival in Indio, CA, the band has been covered before; In 2005 Jamie Cullum played ‘High and Dry’ with parts of ‘Paranoid Android’. We’ll just have to wait till the festival-goers return from the Californian desert to Prince’s performance on YouTube.

    I gotta see this! Prince has done some real garbage recently and he’s kind of a scumbag artsy fartsy pretentious oddball, but he IS a gifted musician.

    As soon as it goes up on youtube, Prince will have it taken down. He doesn’t allow for his stuff to be posted — which is why his performance wasn’t available via webcast…

    So, watch it while you can.

    I have some footage of it. Not all but at least some. I’ll post it and let you know…I’ll put some weird keyword so only the 400,000 radiohead fans that read this will find it. Then, and only then, will it be found by the Prince gestapo and be taken down. It was amazing, a little slower than the original, with Prince making the guitar grunts way more bitter and edgy sounding. Great, great musical moment! Gonna go rest now…

    the audio has been pulled from all of Prince’s vids on youtube. I managed to see it before this happened and it was amazing…Great rocking guitar riffs that only Prince can do..

    Why does he have to be so uptight and a jerk about his music being up on the net? Doesn’t he want fans to enjoy his music? I just won’t ever get this.
