I can’t wait to hear my favorite songs from In Rainbows, but I’m really hoping they settle into a more balanced setlist by the time they get to the Hollywood Bowl in August when I’ve got my tix. From the looks of it that will indeed be the case.

Phew glad to see PA and Karma Police back. Talk Show Host is really overrated. it’s not bad by any means, but certainly wouldn’t make my top 30 radiohead songs.
Now if they played True Love Waits or Gagging Order, that would be exciting.

thank god their in rainbows material is becoming less of the setlist.
there is no need to have an entire album or close to in a setlist unless you havent got much else. i understand its fresh to them, but got, its all ive heard lately. how i would love to hear in limbo played. it doesn’t seem to happen often.

[...] The third show of the first leg of the Radiohead North American tour took place in Atlanta at the Lakewood Amphitheatre. It was a great show and i believe that they try to please the fans! The band played Paranoid Android during the second encore and i am sure that many fans would be extremely happy with this! ? suppose it can’t be a better finale for a great show! Besides they soundchecked Karma Police which make me think that Karma Police will be probably performed in one of the following shows! It also seems that the band aren’t going to play the same setlist for a second night! So the fans can wait for a new surprise every night! Many thanks to AtEase [...]

Can anyone explain this Mass Transit Pass thing to me please? Does it mean they go “Who came here on public transport?” and then they jump the queue?

they did not sound check karma police.

What a show. We were center stage 15 rows back. Just freaking awesome!

Lakewood amphitheatre allows early entry (1 hour) if you show a Marta pass. I don’t think this was Radiohead’s doing, but the venue. It’s done to promote public transpartation because traffic is a bitch in that area. It took us an hour and a half to go the last 2.5 miles. Missed all of Liars and got to our seats just in time. I’ll be taking Marta the next time I go to Lakewood

What a freaking show. Rained halted the night but it was almost mythical. The stage setup is INCREDIBLE. Thom was in really good spirits. The whole band was. Just incredible. Great setlist. See you in Charlotte!

TALK SHOW HOST!!!

May 9th, 2008
Wow, not quite the Bonnaroo set, but this definately beats the show i saw on the Hail To The Thief tour.
Fuckin Talk Show Host? are you fucking serious!!! First Paranoid Android of the tour!!!
And wow, that new stage set-up is intense, I was tripping my balls off, although you don’t need mushrooms to appreciate the visual accompaniment.
My only quips, anti-climatic closer with House of Cards, and those tour t-shirts just aren’t worth 40 dollars.

Talk Show Host was incredible. It’s not even one of my favorite songs but it’s a blast live. Gloaming and Where I End blow the recorded versions out of the water. National Anthem, Idioteque, and even Optimistic were exceptionally kinetic.
Also BANGERS! Along with an explanation of the song’s origins, which was amusing. Of course all the IR stuff was pitch-perfect.
I also have to say that the presentation this time around is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen outside a Pink Floyd show. I never realized the Gloaming was set in the Matrix before. ![]()

for those not lucky to be there last night…what was the origin of Bangers and Mash that was so amusing?

rain did not halt the show.

May 9th, 2008
Apparently the song Bangers and Mash was
inspired from a party that the band
attended that was thrown by a politician,
whom Thom refused to name. The politician
laced all of the food with something, some
kind of drug I’m assuming.
Justin
May 9th, 2008
thom said bangers and mash is about a guys who threw a party and spiked the drinks with LSD. then he and ed said something about the guy being a politician and getting in trouble for it and for bringing in strippers
Larry
May 9th, 2008
you fuckholes that think they shouldn’t play as much of in rainbows as they did are fucking retarded. THEY ARE TOURING THAT ALBUM!! If you wanted to hear more of the older songs then you should have gone to see them prior to this tour. jesus!
i was at atlanta last night, first time for me to see them, and i thought it was one of the best shows i’ve ever seen… and I’m not a huge radiohead fan. I mainly went for my wife and 8 yr-old stepdaughter, whose birthday was yesterday.
You fucktards who feel the need to bash me… go right ahead. I won’t reply, and I probably won’t check this thread again, so you’ll really just be wasting your breath and time.

COOL IT MISTER! heh
The show was incredible. This was my 2nd time seeing them, with the first being on the rail at Bonnaroo (between Ed & Thom). Obviously this show wasn’t Bonnaroo caliber, but none will ever be. I think this is the best set list so far, with Talk Show Host and Optimistic being the highlights for me.
Matt

May 10th, 2008
they were playing burials untrue before they went on and the beat that they used as an intro was pretty badass as well. bangers and mash stands out in my mind as a highlight. the whole night was epic and hats off to liars for an awesome opening set. the way angus built up the suspense was just awesome.
