we left at 5pm and got stuck in traffic for 3.5 hours. we got soaked from top to bottom running from the parking spot to our seats. all i could notice was that everyone was walking slower than us. just as i got into my section (103) i asked someone in front of me “did radiohead come on yet” he said no not yet, and 2 minutes later the lights went out and radiohead started to play. i was soo exited. my cheeks became soar from smiling so hard and i was already recovering from a horrible flu (which came back with a vengeance that evening) i’m 5′3” so at times i couldn’t see that well but why see when you can hear. for some reason i could hear the music better with my eyes closed and my head shaking side to side. then i’d get on my toes to get a glimpse. finally i got in the right spot and got a clear view from then on.

my friends from the lawn came to ask for my ticket so that they can smuggle others into my section. at first i didn’t want to, but i caved. i don’t know why, but they come find me during reckoner to say that they’re going home and leaving early from the show to catch a flight on time at 6am. i didn’t see any sense in it, so i asked for my ticket back.
THE HORROR
they give me this wet paper ball, followed by “thank you”

luckily EIIRP started and i forget all about it, except my friend next to me said “those bastards, those are relics”

well i figured shortly after that they night have trouble getting out of the parking lot.

which they did, they called during the end of the concert to announce that they are aware the concert is over due to the fact they’d been sitting in their car the whole entire time.

the show was amazing. i couldn’t believe it was still raining that hard. we wandered around like lost children looking for the car.
once found we entered it to get warm.
took 2 hours to get out of there.
our other friends who missed the show ended up with a flat tire 20 minutes after hitting the road. what luck.

i got to see the entire show despite the luck. somehow we made it.

we got lost on the way home, but it was plenty of time to discuss the tragedies that occurred. and the legends that performed before us.

yes, they played wonderfully.

I’m really grateful that my friends and I made this show. We drove from Pittsburgh and didn’t give ourselves a lot of time. Google Maps accidentally gave us directions along a back way that allowed us to miss the horrible exit where everyone was backed up for 3 hours. We only had to take the one hour detour. Missed Liars completely and enjoyed the show.

i went to the charlotte show, but had a friend trying to make this show. hence i’ve read all the messages for this post. i feel really bad for everyone who was victimized by the rain and venue staff/setup. The good news is that Radiohead will make it up to you in some way. Oh, and chris is a douchebag.

Chris and others - you’re douchebags. I missed the show because Nissan didn’t tell us the exit was closed - hence an additional 3.5 hours to travel the last mile - I was at exit 44 at 7:00. The good news…my bad concert karma is over, even better news…Chris still has his coming.

Oh - I hear I’m getting Camdem tix as a refund (not confirmed), Radiohead are a fan’s band for sure….

anyone criticizing people for being late is an idiot. it took us two hours just to get from the exit into the venue and it would have taken another hour to park if we didn’t do the vip thing. luckily we got there for radiohead’s set but missed liars.

live nation is also full of shit with their “late arriving crowd” thing….we left from dc at 5pm and didn’t even enter the parking lot till 830.
