Jay-Z is headlining this year’s Glastonbury on Saturday. But it turns out the rapper took Radiohead’s place after the band declined to play the UK festival.
In an interview with The Sun Emily and Michael Eavis talk about getting the headliners together for this year’s festival. Emily: People don’t like change and there’s an element who want it to be a Coldplay or a Radiohead — but the best thing we can do is give people something different.
So who booked Jay-Z? Emily: It was me — I am taking responsibility. Michael: I was working on Radiohead and I had a feeling they wanted to do it but, when it went down, I said to Emily, “Let’s go with Jay-Z. Phone his agent.”
