Cymbal Rush at Arenes de Nimes
To the surprise of many Thom Yorke performed Cymbal Rush on the second night at Arenes de Nimes in France.
Thom Yorke returned alone on stage for the second encore with a piano waiting. New song ‘Super Collider’, previously played in Dublin and Paris this tour was expected to be played, but it turned out to be the debut of a song from Thom Yorke’s The Eraser at a Radiohead show. Watch Cymbal Rush…

I’d be interested to hear the full band’s take on this song.

To be nitpicky, Ade, but how should we classify “debut”?
He did play it with Jonny at the Koko gig, prior to the start of the US 2006 tour.
He also played it solo for the Henry Rollins Show, KCRW, and the BBC, after that tour.
I suppose you could say this was its debut at a Radiohead concert…

This solo version is interesting too, it’s just the quintessence of the song as with Analyse in live or The Clock, just played with a guitar.
It seems very nice that The Eraser appears on a rH Tour !! This album is still growing…

I’m pretty sure he’s played it at a Radiohead concert before…on the 2006 tour. Can’t remember which gig tho. Although it was before the bleeps and blips were there.
This makes me more certain that Super Collider is a solo song.

It always amazes me how Radiohead can take what are very simple chord changes and make something so absolutely haunting and beautiful. Coldplay eat your heart out.

I love Cymbal Rush. It beats a lot of Radioheads songs so I like that it’s played. A full band version would have been cool beans though…
