Weezer are making plans for their “Hootenanny Tour”, in which fans of the band, instruments in hand, will join their heroes in performing Weezer favorites.

Pitchfork reports that Weezer have posted a video on their website which includes instructions on how to play some Weezer classics and Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. If you want to jam with Weezer, here are their Hootenannys: Phoenix (June 17), Portland (19), San Francisco (20), Seattle (21) and Los Angeles (23).

Weezer is doing a cover too? Wow why is creep the favorite, they should do something else, it would make them stand out more. I respect Weezer though.

I was listening to Pinkerton the other day and thought to myself how awesome Weezer used to be. Then I got really depressed because I remembered how god-awful they’ve become.

This only fuels the fire…

And Weezer continues its swift, ugly slide into mediocrity. Somebody please pull the curtain on this train wreck.

eh, don’t give them flack. if they want alot of people to be able to jam with them, they have to choose songs that are catchy and easy to remember. like creep. though I guess they could have also choosen high and dry or karma police. those are pretty damn easy to play.

I agree El Scorcho, Pinkerton was the last thing they made with any credit. Sad to see a good band go down the drain.

Any band that still shows their face on MTV can burn in hell as far as I’m concerned.

I agree with most that old weezer (blue and pinkerton era) is quite superior to the rest . . . but there is a taste of the old weezer format in the new album . . . even in pork and beans
