RA DIOHEA_D / HOU SE OF_C ARDS

As reported last week, the video for Radiohead’s House Of Cards would be launching at Google.com. The video, the making of the video are now live and you can explore data visualization through a 3D viewer and use your mouse to further manipulate the data and create your own visualizations.

Download the data and instructions on how to create your own visualizations. If you manage to create a data visualization that you’d wish to share, the band would love to see it. You can share your videos on the House of Cards YouTube group.

    Ok. Nice new technology. But…
    Why was the song edited
    one and a half minute?

  • Sam

    MTV?

That video (or whaever you call it) was ace. With further development is this technology the future of video or just a parallel?

    Also, who is the girl?

  • there_there76

I agree……very surprised they chopped out part of the song. Unlike them, and i hope they’re not doing that on the radio single……

That said, that was a beautiful video. Gave me chills.

  • Dave

FANTASTIC!!! Song should be in its full glory though.

  • Dave

In what part of Florida was this filmed?

  • lieutzip

Pretty neat. Interested to see where this technology goes, and what it can do that video/film/CGI can’t.

  • MusicTechnology

    Great Great Great

  • bigidea

    yup. really good.

what other band of their scale / level is up to experimenting the way they do…?

cool video. love the part with the power lines disintegrating. i’m GLAD they cut the song down. the album version is too long…good call.

  • Mike

that is so awesome. perfectly captures the feel of teh song, and album even.

  • RAF

perfect video for house of cards

    Amazing.

  • Alex

    Where’s the binary solo?
    “0000001! 00000011! 0000000111!”

    Beautiful video, of course

It would be amazing scan the sea with this technology. I hope to see something like that.

Very good video, please go beyond

  • Kevin07

A bit disappointing. The rainbow suburbia bits looked great but the dots that obscured the faces detracted a fair bit.

  • jeff

the girl singing was kinda creepy.
I think they cut it for the sake of film (or lasers or whatever). I thought the whole band was gonna be in it? All and good though.

  • whatev

    filmed in west palm fl….boring

  • Kaaasgaaf

Maybe a stupid question, but are you supposed to watch this video with 3D-glasses?
And where can I get these?

  • Kaaasgaaf

Oh, and is that girl Rachel?

  • http://www.johngalantini.com JOHN

Like the landscape parts, but not sure on the closeups. Quite hard to watch for me, didn’t have very high hopes to be honest.

  • ninjacatpuppet

I think the reason they cut the song down to 1.5 min. for the fan part is because the data needed just for that portion of the song is already pretty massive. There is a full video that the band did using the same technology and the full song.

  • PK

I know it sounds like blasphemy to say this in this web site, but I can’t help not seeing the references to the album cover of A Rush of Blood to the Head. Coincidence?

  • Your Mom

I agree with PK, but we know it’s Coldplay that lifts everything from Radiohead.

  • spike

Yes this reminded me completely of the cool covers for Rush Of Blood To The Head and it’s singles. But then, those were just still images – it must be much harder with video.

  • Cee

I wonder how expensive it is to use this technology. Why not make a video with magnetic resonance then? Or a telescope with CCD detection panels? At the end of the day, the immages in a digital cammera, are just a superposition of digital detectors just like the ones used in laser devices, right?

  • Jacob

That was so cool. It better be on MTV
or something because more people need to
    see this.
