Jonny Greenwood releases song with Israeli singer

Israeli singer Dudu Tasa has released a new single in Israel. Not something that would make this site’s news headlines, but surprisingly enough Radiohead’s guitarist Jonny Greenwood is involved.

Jonny recorded the song with Dudu Tasa. The Israeli singer told  Ynet on the collaboration: “It gave the song some depth that was not there before”. Jonny contributed on just one track from his forthcoming album and is thrilled about the help from the Radiohead guitarist  “Jonny loves what I do and thats very flattering.”

The track is available online at Ynet.

[thx Gon]

@leah – the video/audio players on Ynet don’t suppurt Firefox, but it works fine with IE. Anyway, it’s not really worth lisening. Nothing special.

There are actually quite a few Israelis that disapprove of the occupation, though the US media never reports on them or their views. Unless this guy is flagrantly responsible for cruelty to Palestinians and is a settler or something, then we should respect that there is a minority of individuals who share a minority opinion and are therefore separate from the state’s actions, which carries majority backing. I’m sure Jonny recognizes that Israel is clearly in the wrong on this, though I wish Radiohead would say something. It’s much too late when people whine about how Al Qaeda is growing more popular. This is how it happens — when the West falls silent amidst such clear murder. Brian Eno spoke out best on what Israel is doing, though you’d be hard-pressed to find this on American U2 fan sites; thank God for pitchfork:

    lol, you fucking idiot

Thom prostituting his intellect for the grammys, Ed and Phil helping Neil Finn and Jeff Tweedy to desacrate their songs and Johnny collaborating with Israelis.
I’m putting my hopes on Colin to save the remnants of dignity they have left.

  • Vince

The guitar is so awesome, and then you have this idiot pop singer wailing in hebrew over top of it. I’d rather listen to the instrumental.

    Thats a great song.
    I really appreciate the comments.
To those of you who were so eager to slander the Israeli singer, Well maybe you will grow brain some day.
the whole song is inspired by Dudu Tasa Musical style, Which is one of the greatest guitarists and writers Israel has to offer, and it has many!
so go on, kill our music!
maybe you’ll get a good job when the next holocaust will come.
    all my love!
