As you all know, Radiohead not only won a Grammy for Best Alternative Album, but the Discbox edition of ‘In Rainbows’ was awarded with a Grammy as well.
Stanley Donwood, Mel Maxwell and Christiaan Munro were nominated as creative directors for the limited edition of Radiohead’s latest release ‘In Rainbows’. Mel, who some of you may know from Radiohead’s merchandise branche W.A.S.T.E., didn’t expect to win. “We thought it would be a great experience to go out there and enjoy the award ceremony but to actually win a Grammy was amazing, we were so shocked,” Mel told the Reading Evening Post.
Mel continued: “This is our first award and we are still pretty shocked really. You just don’t expect it to happen to you and we were surprised to be nominated so we just went to LA to see what it was like really. The album In Rainbows was released as a free download so it was a massive thing and we were really glad to be working with Radiohead to create the cover. It really is an honour to be awarded. I don’t think any of us have stopped grinning.”
