mty_rh requested that his post be translated into English:
In the middle of “Exit Music…” One of the strings of Thom’s guitar was broken, so he stopped. He restarted the song like that, and the moment the band joined in EVERYONE messed up… Thom just said: “I’m sorry, we’ll try that one later” Amusing!

the best show i’ve ever been, they were really happy, and surprised, though they here, are superstars, paparazzi targets, and all that they seem to hate about the bussines. amazing show, people were crazy, dindn’t finish exit music though, didn’t matter much, been waitin’ for them since i was 13.
when they started playing CREEP everyone started to look at each other don’t knowing what to do, (but at last singing it out loud) for here in México, existed this felling about Radiohead not comming in the last 15 years because the crowds then, only wanted that song from them, great to see they’re above their own rejection of the song, and having fun with it, not taking it too serius, talk show host and you and whose army the other surprises of the night, hope next time doesn’t take them same long to come back, not now they now how much we love them.

If only they would do Creep when they come to Toronto. I’ve seen them 7 times, and not once have they played it.

very funny and typical of native spanish speakers to mistake “i want a perfect body” for “a one perfect body.” no offense, just amusing.

I was at the 2 shows. I think the second one was better than the first one, but it’s just my opinion. They sang Creep, I dont know why, it was a nice fact but i would had better preferred another song. It was funny when thom sang ‘i want a perfect body…’ while he was lifting his shirt, then the crowd shouted “wooooo” and he looked embarrased… Also the mess up with Exit Music. These things and of course the rest of the songs converted this night in an unique and malvelous experience.

No matter what happens now
‘I’ shouldn’t be afraid
Because I know ‘yesterday’ has been the most perfect day I’ve ever seen.
My greatest birthday.
I still can’t decide wich of the two concerts was my favorite!

My first reaction to creep was “no!! Dont play that!!” i actually tought planet telex was next cause , (that i remember) is the only one they lower the lights all the way down behind them i would have prefered wieayb, planet telex, bangers nmash, morning bell, or imbw. but anyways great shows. 1st nigth was more of a greatest hits setlist. And nigth 2 was more of a true fan setlist being it was the first date on sale. We were mostly true radiohead fans and where there to enjoy the music. Not just scream, push, etc. like it happened on the 1st night.
Happy to hear my iron lung Hadnt heard it live before and can now be part of the lucky ones to have heard creep also.
Cant wait for summer tour!!!!

We will play that one later.

lucky mexicans got talk show host…
tupi
March 17th, 2009
haha @ thom saying before going into creep: “have a nice life.”
sounds like he won’t be coming back anytime soon. Flew in from LA for both shows. Got trampled the second night in GRAL A. I’ve been in 3 other radiohead pool or pit seats, never seen or experienced anything like that. I understand appreciation of the greatest band in the world, but come on. Let other people enjoy it too. Mexico City does rock though. So many different areas and sites. It was cool all the way around except for my toes being smashed to smithereens. And Kid A! yay!!!
Andrea
March 18th, 2009
You’re right Andrea, I don’t think they will comeback, and I don’t know why, Thom was kind of pissed in the second concert.
Pablo
March 18th, 2009
Pablo, do you think he was sort of agitated because of the way the fans were stalking them around the city, or something else? I’m not sure. I talked to a few people that either saw him after waiting for hours or were looking for him all around the city. He sounded like he had fun the first night! And his “gracias” was so darn cute.
Andrea
March 18th, 2009
Yeah, the first night was great, they were really happy, something must have happened, on the second night though, the audience was not great they weren’t singing as the first night. He was expecting the audience to sing the chorus of All I need like on the first night. He was kind of disappointed after that.
I hope they’ll come back, but I just don’t know, he seemed pissed. I hope he gets over it! The first night was great!
Pablo
March 18th, 2009
BTW if you’re in GNRAL A it s best to stay a little back and not try to be right at the front, I didn’t had a problem in neither night.
Pablo
March 18th, 2009
yeah, my friend took off before kraftwerk because it was too much. i of course thought i could handle it. I had to get out of the pit during all i need. maybe that’s why he was disappointed

Sweet lord those encores are the best
I’ve ever seen. Creep AND Like Spinning
Plates? AND Talkshow Host?! Jesus that’s
the best setlist I’ve seen from them in
awhile! I would’ve given my left testicle
to go to that show.

March 18th, 2009
i was at both nights… i think they were happier on the 2nd night… you know, they laugh and speak more to the audience; not to speak the great setlist
anyway, the “have a nive life” really scares me

I was in the two shows and I have to say the first one was the best, all the crowd singing all the songs even the new ones, so emotive in Fake Plastic Trees and Street Spirit. In Airbag the people get crazy and the chaos started, fortunately everybody get calm.
The second night the moment was Exit Music and Karma Police.
I love so much How to Disappear Completely and they play it. The tears in my eyes in this song.

so there’s a figth about wich nigth was best ah? of course the first gig everyone sang along, they call “it greatest hit’s setlist concert”, EMI sells a record with those, second setlist is more intimate, not that “singable”, (if that word exists) but better for the fans, it’s all about the music, (dollars and cents!, you and whose army! TSH!) however Radiohead is the best band on earth (maybe even the universe) and getting to be there is a life changing experience.
victor
March 20th, 2009
I agree with u Victor, second night was more ‘intimate’, i was in the two concerts, GRal A, they were happy in both of them, no just the first one. In the first one, they weres just surprised, and then they turn happy !!, the second one, they were happy from beggining to the end. Thom making jokes and laughting while creep !! that was amazing !! of course they were happy to sing creep, as the last one !! just… AWESOME !!!

March 24th, 2009
Pablo and Andrea, both concerts were awesome if you really appreciate all of their music. Anyway, I can’t believe nobody mentions the magic when they played Like Spinning Plates… I cried like a fucking baby
You’re totally right about the pushing and yelling, it was really annoying at the beginning. If Radiohead is on the stage you better pay attention to every move, rather going crazy.

I went both gigs. The best days of my life. I can´t decide wich was better. I cried with HOW TO DISAPPEAR, it was perfect, beatiful. I´ve prefered that the don´t played CREEP and better play Knives out, Planet telex, I might be wrong, Myxomatosis, 2+2=5, Go to sleep or the terrific LET DOWN. The unique stupid damn fuckin bad thing from the concerts was the people around me: poserssss (o no sé como se les llame a esa gente).
Come back soon Radiohead
