Radiohead headline Reading/Leeds Festival

Radiohead have been announced as headliners of this year’s Reading & Leeds festival. The band will headline the festival together with Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys.

Only recently Ed O’Brien revealed that a Summer tour was in the works. The Reading/Leeds festival announcement is a pleasant surprise for those who want to see band play in Europe again. Radiohead who have just finished their South American tour last played in Europe last Summer. All in all, not a big gap for Radiohead standards. Radiohead will play the Leeds Festival on Saturday August 29 and Reading Festival on Sunday August 30, 2009.

Tickets went on sale at 7pm tonight, which you can get over here: SEE Tickets, Ticketmaster, Ticketline, Gigantic, Voyages4a.com (France only), Lastminute.com, Stargreen, NME, Ticketqueen,
Further artists are to be announced. For ticket details visit www.readingfestival.com where information of online and high street vendors are available.

Hopefully they consider the fact that a lot of people who are going to Leeds will have gone to the Manchester gig last year, therefore although it was great they should play a different setlist!

What is happening with the newspaper “News Of The World” phone-hacking scandal in the UK? The causality’s are starting to stack up: News of The World itself closed down. Rebekah Brook (News International chief executive) arrested on suspicion of corruption and phone hacking. The UK’s most senior policeman John Yates resigned. The News Of The World reporter who blew the whistle on phone hacking at the paper has been found dead, which is now being treated as “unexplained”. Rupert and James Murdoch are to appear before government committee to answer questions on the phone hacking scandal. The news is making the news; whatever next?
