Colin: Radiohead might try out new songs live

Posted on April 1st, 2009.

In Today’s NME, Colin Greenwood commented on Radiohead’s headlining spots on the Reading/Leeds Festival this Summer.

The Radiohead bassist said: “I’m very happy to be playing the festival, for lots of reasons. It’s close to home, and it’s great to be sharing it with Kings and Arctics. It should be darker and louder than our London shows last summer, too – a good thing! I think it’s the chance for people to see our show in the UK, in the dark, that’s the coolest thing about doing the festival” However Colin is left in the dark about what the band are going to play in Reading and Leeds: “I don’t know what’s planned. I’m not allowed to do setlists, I’m too indecisive! We are trying out a few new things, but we’re still at the stage of casting about for a way forward. It’ll be brilliant to play something new at the festival though.”

Is the site not loading at all for anyone else? I get a blank white page when I visit ateaseweb.com or ateaseweb.com/news/index.php. I have to go through the RSS feed linked on ateaseweb.com/mb to see any of this.

Colin actually said they are going to open the show with three never-before-heard brand-new songs.

They will also play True Love Waits, Blow Out, Maquiladora and then they will invite special guest Miley Cyrus who will do a duet rendition of No Surprises with Thom.

‘Hearts and Minds’..i’ve been having the same issue for about a month..i signed on to ateaseweb.com/mb and do that same thing as you :(

That’s what I was anticipating too. And regardless of the april fools aspect I would have been giddy.

Same thing here, Hearts and MInds and Ronatron. Ateaseweb wasn’t loading on my Mac’s Safari browser unless I reset erased the cache or reset the browser. This happens every few months. Really annoying.

That festival is too expensive, 70pounds for just the day Radiohead plays? No way I am spending that much, eventhough they’ll come to my city. Shame on them!

i thought there would have been an interview inside the mag, not a quote from someone-elses interview, jusdging by the cover, you would think there’s a sensational 2 pages interview, or similar, but basically there’s a few lines with absolutely nothin new, and this really annoyed me, because i had few pounds left.

Why is it that I get all of my RSS updates from this site clumped together in one day, several days after they were originally posted?

as thom said once . . .

[on unofficial Radiohead sites]
“They certainly seem to be writing my lyrics for me; if I’m ever stuck for an idea I go and read them.”

just remember this when people are fighting about what they should or shouldn t play and etc etc etc
