New Thom Yorke 12” vinyl available for pre-order

Thom Yorke Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses The Hollow EarthAs reported earlier, a new 12″ vinyl with two Thom Yorke tracks is on its way. Today, Thom made an announcement regarding the release on Dead Air Space.

‘Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses’ is written and recorded by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood. It’s backed with a track from The Eraser sessions: ‘The Hollow Earth. The vinyl is available for pre-order at w.a.s.t.e., to be released on September 21st with a free digital download, followed by a digital release for non-waste members on October 6th.

Here’s Thom’s message from Dead Air Space.

FeelingPulledApartbyHorses/ TheHollowEarth 12inch
Dear Sir or Madam

This is to inform you of the release of two more bits of work shortly.
They are loosely under the Thom Yorke name this time, although these days its all getting kind of blurry.
FeelingPulledApartbyHorses is written & played by Jonny and I and is a radical rework of an old tune thats been kicking around without a home since 2001? i think.
The Hollow Earth is a bass menace that was born out of the Eraser period but needed a little more time.
Both were produced by Nigel Godrich as ever. And mastered by Bob Ludwig.
They are being put out on 12″ with sliced sleeve by Stanley and Tchock.
My sources tell me this will be available from the 21st of September if you’re interested.. On sale in the w.a.s.t.e part of our website (with a gratis download.)
Or you can go buy it in a good record shop if you are lucky enough to have one near you.
Then later on there will be like a normal download thing i think around the 6th of Oct through the usual channels.

And so it goes. all the best
Thom

    The artwork looks like the cover of Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division, very nice. Another brilliant download to get, cheers.

    I Love You, Thom Yorke!

    [You get no love, Jonny G.]

    [OK, you both get love... but don't tell the others...]

  • stefano

    this was the papapapapa version after all!!

  • stefano

    i mean, the (2nd?) “reckoner” version

  • http://www.farawayjournal.com Dimba

    10 pounds/$20 is pretty steep for the unemployed . . .

  • dave

    10 pounds is way too expensive for a 12″ single

  • Jonz

    stefano, feeling pulled apart would be the first reckoner, and afaic there isn’t any other reckoner.

    ~~~reckonercaust denier~~~
  • matt
    “10 pounds/$20 is pretty steep for the unemployed . . .”
    …then get a job…i did & U can 2 (or wait for the bootlegging to begin)
    “They are loosely under the Thom Yorke name this time, although these days its all getting kind of blurry.”
    What do you mean, Thom, “kind of blurry”?
  • kidj
    i agree it is a bit pricey. but considering all the free shit radiohead has given us and the fact that it’s a limited edition…
  • steve
    not necessarily a limited edition, radiohead never said it themselves. so i wouldn’t buy it if only for that reason.
  • Muldfeld
    I thought of getting the vinyl for collector’s sake, but I don’t even own an lp player (and haven’t for, like, 16 years or something) and would be depriving some hardcore fans of the vinyls. If it were a CD, that would be another matter.
    So, I’m just gonna wait until October 6th to buy the download. Gives me something to look forward to.
    Jonz:
    1st version:
    which defers a bit with:
    2nd version:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTHJHMuhEUo
    they’re not exactly the same… some changes can be heard. so yep, we can say there are 2 “early” versions of reckoner.
  • Stefano
    Jonz:
    Actually there are 2 EARLY version of Reckoner, the 2000 version and Thom’s 2006 solo version. So i wasn’t THAT confused at all, they are slightly different, but different after all. check them out on youtube.
    I think Rob said it best…
    Hey man. Don’t smoke the whole rock but just a little piece. I can’t take this song here and song there stuff. I know I’m a crack fein. My crack is called Radiohead and I want it now!!! Please Radiohead. Get you arses in the studio and produce some of that yummy crack. Twenty tracks and trust me, I’ll pay you. Some albums I bought twice. Give me some crack.
  • anon
    sold out already wtf?
  • reggie
    I think this is utter crap $20 for 2 songs
    that I finally heard these versions of.
    They were so terrible, even if it were from
    a new band the first time in a studio. But
    it is not it is thom and co. What a stellar
    letdown. If this the new way for radiohead
    to do business I say shut up shop.
