As you might have heard, musician and producer Willie Mitchell passed away on January 5. Colin Greenwood posted a ‘Willie Mitchell RIP’ on Dead Air Space today.
Willie Mictchell died at the age of 82. Since the 60′s he released a large number of records, but he might be most famous for producing Al Green’s records. Colin, linking to the New York Times article, posted: He made some of the sweetest, slinkiest, soulful records ever. I remember years ago round at Jonny’s listening to “That Driving Beat”, then devouring all the southern soul records he made.
