The Glastonbury Videos: Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood

Posted on June 29th, 2010.

So, last Friday was kind of epic for Radiohead fans at the 40th anniversary of the Glastonbury Festival. The Telegraph ranked the surprise appearance of Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood first place in their top 10 of Glastonbury highlights. The Guardian wrote: “It was the unexpected moments that really made the weekend”. SPIN named the show: “Best surprise appearance not nearly enough people saw”. Either way, RadioMad filmed all songs. Here are all of them. Enjoy!

The Eraser

Harrowdown Hill

Black Swan

Cymbal Rush

Arpeggi / Weird Fishes

Pyramid Song

Idioteque

Karma Police

Street Spirit [fade out]

BONUS: Karma Police singalong, view from back of stage

That backstage video is from Rostam of Vampire Weekend. He posted it to vimeo and someone ripped it to YouTube.

Fantastic! All praise be to RadioMad. I was up by the mixing desk, very happy – great to have the close up view as a souvenir.

Funny to see most of the fans were still sucking the teet in ’97 during the most famous glastonbury gig. I guess that’s part of life. I feel old.

Aside from Pyramid Song, these were all lazy, sloppy, and unfocused. I love Thom but he just gets a free pass from all the kiss asses. Look he can do wrong, and these video’s proved that. We should demand a better performance and not just applaud wildly for everything they do. You want a better performance, you must demand one. Maybe Thom is losing his hearing.

errrrrr…
yes that must be the reason. Masturbation is evil, it causes bad hearing – and makes you wear rainbow headbands. I think i’ve heard everything i need to hear.

lmao @ the drunk guy in the Karma Police vid…

Thom: We’ll see you guys later…
Drunk guy: WHERE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Oh and Tone Deaf Thom, promptly go fuck yourself please. This was a surprise performance for fun, none of these people knew Thom/Johnny would be there and certainly didn’t buy tickets for that reason — not like they were paying for a headline Radiohead gig… get your head of your ass and stop being such an ungrateful twat.

Marc you are one of the very kiss asses I speak of, I don’t care if Thom and Johnny dropped out of the sky to perform. The effort Thom puts out on his live performances is lousy and your the twat that praises anything they do. When Radiohead had to really work for their loyal fan base they actually put out AMAZING performances. I know I’ve seen them 4 times. But Thom seems tired and lazy and doesn’t put the effort out that he used to. I’m a huge fan myself and its hard to say that I think he’s losing his step, so before calling me an ungrateful twat go back and watch performances circa OK computer and forward you will see the decline.

I agree that Thom doesn’t sing as well as he use to, but you have to consider he’s in his early 40s now, versus the OKC era when he was in his 20s.

Well Sinatra could always belt out a great tune even to his grave…

Sinatra didn’t belt out anything, other than maybe a broad or two… he belched out his songs.

@ToneDeafThom While I agree that it was a bit sloppy, maybe Thom deserves a break every once in a while. Wouldn’t you get tired of always being spot on? I know I would. I’d just want to have fun every once in a while.
