Jonny Greenwood contributes to new Bryan Ferry album

Posted on July 16th, 2010.

Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood has collaborated with Bryan Ferry again. The former Roxy Music frontman has recorded an album (‘Olympia’) in London featuring David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Nile Rogers (Chic), Mani (Primal Scream), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Marcus Miller, Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada and Jonny Greenwood.

The record, to be released on October 25th, will be preceded by a single on August 2nd (‘You Can Dance’). Interesting fact, Ferry’s Roxy Music bandmates (Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay, and Brian Eno) will also appear on the album, which would be for the first time since Roxy Music’s ‘For Your Pleasure’ in 1973. At the moment, it’s not clear on how many or which track(s) Jonny worked on.

It’s not the first time Jonny Greenwood and Bryan Ferry collaborated. Jonny featured on the track ‘Hiroshima’ from Bryan Ferry’s 2002 album ‘Frantic’

‘Olympia’ will be out as a standard edition with 10 tracks. There’s also a double cd + dvd edtion with 13 tracks. The full track-listing for Bryan Ferry’s ‘Olympia’ is below. Pre-order here.
