Following the European tour dates announced last month, Philip Selway has added some more details, plus an Amsterdam venue has been named.
Promoting his upcoming album ‘Familial’, the Radiohead drummer kicks off his tour with two shows in Japan, at the end of August in Tokyo and Osaka. After a show in Ireland, a UK tour is to follow, supporting Wilco on two occasions. The venue for the Amsterdam show has been confirmed; Philip will play the small room of Paradiso. For now, the tour seems to end with shows in Brussels and Paris. On stage he will be accompanied by Adem Ilhan, Kath Mann, Caroline Weeks and Alex Thomas.
In the meantime, Entertainment Weekly spoke to Philip about Radiohead’s progress on their 8th album, calling it “very productive, very creative sessions.” As for that 2010 deadline that Ed O’Brien mentioned? “Oh, I don’t know. We keep on hitting those points where you think, ‘We’re there.’ And then [later] you think, ‘No, it’s not.’ We’re having a break from it at the moment. I’ll be [promoting Familial], and then we’ll come back to it later in the summer and see where we are.”
