The King Of Limbs gets remixed, mashed-up with Jay-Z, and covered. Already.

Friday morning, mere hours after The King Of Limbs was released, reviews were already popping up all over the internet. Music critics and bloggers were keen to be among the first to get their opinions public about a record they’d spent a couple of hours with. Well, they’ve got nothing on these people. Songs from The King Of Limbs are already getting remixed and mashed-up with Jay-Z, while one band has even managed to release a cover record of the entire album.

First up, Swedish producer Mojib adds some vocal samples and slows down the piano-driven Codex:

Separator has also been remixed:

And once again someone out there has decided that Jay-Z and Radiohead are a great fit. This time around Little By Little has been mashed-up with Jay-Z’s American Gangster:

And finally, Prefix Mag has pointed out that Los Angeles band Robotanists have covered the entirety of The King Of Limbs. Pretty quick turnaround on a record that we heard for the first time a few days ago. You can download the entire album here for free…or you could put The King Of Limbs on again.

    @vlad – pretty sure he only covered Sgt Pepper the song, not the album. And it’s one thing to perform a cover and another to record and release it within 24 hours. That’s all I was getting at with that comment.

    that jay-z remix seems pretty rushed and a bit of a poor job. i’m pretty amateur at that stuff myself, but seriously that would take me like maybe 10 minutes in ableton live to put together.

    Corny!!! I hate when people do this stuff! It doesn’t even inspire any creative thoughts! Its like oh im bored. Radiohead came out with a new album, let’s mash it up! Leave it own. Mash up Kings of leon crap album instead of Kings of limb album.

    feb. 18 was a great day to all music lovers. i mean real music lovers. good music. like radiohead. and kings of limbs is brilliant. how DARE you mix this brilliancy with a mainstream rapper!?!?!? like gay z or jay d or what everrr!!!!! so fucking annoying i hate things like that!!!!!!!!

    False. He didn’t play the entire album but the opening song. Which is still impressive since they only rehearsed a few minutes before the show when they found out Paul McCartney and George Harrison were in attendance.

    adriaan: Love to see the news getting updated. Bland news is better than no news. Would love to see a feature on what musicians think about it… we know flying lotus loved it by his tweets but that was a no brainer. Any other artists’ opinions?

    Bad taste….in ma’mouth. Like grilled onions left out for a week.

    It sounds like these amateur DJs/musicians were trying to become the first to remix a Radiohead song just for the cred. None of this noise makes good hearty sense…musically.
