Today is D-day for Radiohead’s newspaper The Universal Sigh. The band issue a 12-page newspaper at 63 locations worldwide. Thom Yorke is handing out papers in London.
Outside London’s Rough Trade East record store Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood are handing out the band’s newspaper The Universal Sigh (video). The newspaper made by the band features 12 pages of artwork, lyrics and stories. Apart from a story from Stanley Donwood you can also read stories from authors Robert MacFarlane (Mountains of the Mind, The Wild Places) and Jay Griffiths (Pip Pip: A Sideways Look at Time). Depending on your location you can get The Universal Sigh in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
Everyone who picks up a copy of The Universal Sigh can get their picture taken which will be uploaded to www.theuniversalsigh.com.
Over at The Guardian you can listen to a full album stream of The King of Limbs. The Guardian also has two exclusive examples of artwork credited to Zachariah Wildwood & Donald Twain. As we all know by now, these are the alter egos of Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood.
