Radiohead’s Supercollider/The Butcher 12″ release information

As we’ve noted, Radiohead released Supercollider/The Butcher as a 12″ vinyl single for Record Store Day 2011 over the weekend. The band then made the songs available digitally for anyone who had ordered The King Of Limbs from the official shop as a thank you to fans for their support.

Now we have word that in addition to the previously mentioned physical release of the 12″ in the US and Canada on June 14, the band will also make the 12″ available to order from the official WASTE shop on the same day. The band have updated their April 15 Dead Air Space post to reflect this new release information. So hopefully everyone who wants a copy will be able to track one down easily now.

    Funny that TKoL rating at Amazon got an average 3.5 out of 5 stars, which has the lowest among all their past albums. I truly believe this rating will go higher over time. Let’s hope more people will come to appreciate the beauty of TKoL. :-)

    Everywhere I go I see hate for Mr. Magpie. It admittedly took me at least 5 or 6 listens before it clicked, but I absolutely love the song now. Colin’s bassline during the 2nd half of the song is one of his grooviest, the drum riff is surprisingly complex, and while the guitars are subdued they have layers to them that only come through during multiple listens.

    If we had never heard the verrrrry different acoustic version from TMGLMOAT, I think a lot of these fans who are dissing the track would be singing a different tune.

    I ask myself the very same question. :D

    They remind me of the scholar legend “Faust” sold his soul to devil for worldly success and pleasure. But then again, their music dose more than those superficial emotion, but admittedly on the darker side, which is Yin in terms of Yin/Yan. There are more to it in this world, than just good and evil, imho.

    …i totally agree. i love ‘morning mrmagpie’, upon first listen as well. it’s the perfect sunny saturday morning drive track. word though on ‘the butcher’…that track is beast. of course…supercollider is nice as well. as long as thom likes radiohead as much as we do…we’ll keep seeing quality releases.

    I can see why these 2 tracks were left off of TKOL. Just wouldn’t fit with the sound and vibe of TKOL. I do like The Butcher think it is a nice dark and funky sound.

    I think I preferred Supercollider as a piano ballad. This new version isn’t bad, but I could see why they didn’t put it on the album. The Butcher is great too. If there are going to be any future releases (at this point I dont even care), lets hope for the present tense and the daily mail. im IN LOVE with those two. But if not, a tour or webcast would be nice i suppose.

    Maybe a stupid question, but which of the two tracks is actually the A- and which is the B-side? ‘Cause on the vinyl-rip ‘The Butcher’ was the first track, but on the official download it’s the 2nd.

    last info : nobody [ yet ] had received the newspaper album – you are seen pictures posted by the band only to show how the media can be manipulated so easily ; how thousands of people around the globe can be manipulated as well so easily . its an experiment . and it can be dangerous . but its all part of the analysis . a real radiohead jump into the new era .
