  • four tet one is awesome people

  • Agreed

  • I have been purchasing the RMXs through bleep.com and finding it really annoying that there is no proper meta data on the WAV files. I am hoping the downloads from The King of Limbs store have it sorted!
Has anyone purchased from the RH store?

  • i got this as soon as i saw fourtet was on it. rather awesome beginning with feral, as well.

  • Criss cross crackle packle snackle rattle pittle pattle tatlle grinkle tinkle trinkle.
    Next song.
    More of the same.

MAN THIS IS HORRIBLE. I WOULDN’T EVEN LISTEN TO IT ON YOUTUBE AND THAT’S FREE.

I didn’t think you could make Morning Mr. Magpie any shittier.
    I was wrong.

  • meh

  • complete waste of time, why bothering making shittty remixes?

  • Morning Mr. Magpie???? Is it just me or shouldn’t a remix have some what of a resemblance to the original. All I heard were random snare hits, a man’s voice echo, some crackling sound and a car engine rev. what gives!

  • just ask four tet to rmx the whole album :)

  • Utter shite! four tet one sounds like a masterpiece next too the other two steaming shit waves. Its gonna be a long summer

  • The Feral remix sounds like an old Underworld recording from the 90′s. Nothing really that exciting by todays standards.

  • Someone mentioned it before, but they should follow through and have Massive Attack finally remix OK Computer. That I would get interested in

  • Morning Mr. Magpie and Little by lithe and Feral are the best songs on TKOL by far. Bloom and Lotus Flower are ok. Separator and Give up the Ghost nice. Codex is just boring. The Remixes are good. Modern music, not 80ies, 90ies shit

  • Feral (Lone) — starts out with nice percussion throughout, but nothing else new to the table, the rest is boring.

Morning Mr Magpie (Pearson Sound Scavenger) — also starts out with nice highlight (my fav. part of MMM) of this song, then followed with cheesy electric drum beat.

Separator (Four Tet) — the only one i could finish listening the whole piece. it has subtle interesting sounds mix between.

I hope there’ll be more attempts by other musicians in the future to outdo some of those mediocre lazy remixes.

  • The first comment posted here was of exceptional taste…

Josh’s comment nicely compliments the first comment by being in agreement with his words… this isstarting out pretty good.

Jorge’s comment displays petty negativity without further exploring why said remixes are ‘shitty’.

Mark’s comment (like Jorge’s) merely states his opinion as if it were a fact of life. Possibly forgetting others may have discovered something they’ve enjoyed in the mentioned songs. However, his somewhat enthusiastic thoughts toward the remixes are a shocking surprise to see in the currently underwhelmed comment page…

    Everyone Deserves Music’s comment is…etc…

  • @ k/illed by GHOSTS

now what? ur the Judge Judy of AtEase?

    :D

  • @ k/illed by GHOSTS

    oh… wait, i totally get it, my bad… :D

  • @ k/illed by GHOSTS

but your brilliant post sort of contradict your own critique:

**** Jorge’s comment displays petty negativity without further exploring why said remixes are ‘shitty’. ****

    ;-)

  • Morning Mr. Magpie… yeah… not sure I get how that is a remix. Call me crazy but I think a remix should at least – kind of – have some small reflection of the original. If I were to listen to this without knowing what it was, I wouldn’t think “Oh, that’s an interesting remix of Morning Mr. Magpie!” It’s like me writing a random few hundred pages and calling it a “remix” of Earnest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea…

I don’t mean to be cynical or negative…. I like TKOL and I really liked Jacques Greene’s remix of Lotus Flower, which I listen to as frequently as the original, but some of these remixes (Bloom 1&2 come to mind) leave me kind of stunned and speechless by how lame they are, and frankly I like pretty much everything that RH does…

  • 4tet separator is a 4tet classic . maestro [ there is love in you mr tet ]

  • loving all the remixes. In about 3-4 years all the haters will catch up hahaha like kid A and Amnesiac.
and for the music lovers heres some oldish news which may have passed you by so thought i’d re-post it http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2011/06/modeselektor_an.html

  • yes! I know eh?! New Modeselektor lp!
I had”The White Flash” kind of cranked last night in my car…you just have to with that song. If you like Modeselektor I would definitely check out Moderat. Basically Modeselektor making tunes with Apparat…check out “rusty nails” by them. That’s a good late night cranked song in the car too —–

  • lamE, laME, lAME, LAME
    Lame, LAme, LAMe
    lAmE, LaMe

does this make it less or more lame?

  • New isn’t synonymous with better or even good. I like Radiohead, and Thom and Jonny as independent artists but I don’t care about remixes other than listening to how a song is interpreted once.

  • humm… i don’t know, one single song can have 6,852,472,823 interpretations, basing on a record of world population….

  • Say something once why say it again

  • Apparat is really easy to get into….

nice recommendation ”The White Flash” & “rusty nails”….

  • because it’s fun…

i have no problems when posts here have been repeatedly made the same point but countless times.

  • A lot of people here type about Four Tet and good reason.
I have listened to a few of his remixes and there is some quality.

The reason of several why this remix is okay is because he remixed a song that was already good from the album and two, he kept Thom’s voice.

    The rest is just shite.

  • they REALLY should let four tet remix the whole record. that’d just be beautiful.

  • yeah…i’m sorry but none of these remixes are ALL that. the four tet remix is decent at best.; the original squashes it easily. unfortunately, this batch of remixes don’t do the originals justice. finally, why the h3ll is feral even being remixed at all? if any track on the album should be void of remixes…it’s feral.

  • *** why the h3ll is feral even being remixed at all? ***

    totally agree, it’s redundant.

  • the only other version of Feral i like is Rh’s TKoL LFTB, that one is amazing!!!

  • *** Morning Mr. Magpie… yeah… not sure I get how that is a remix. Call me crazy but I think a remix should at least – kind of – have some small reflection of the original. some nuance in above comment, brilliantly funny. :-)

  • ,,,,,,..and inspiring….

  • as much as i don’t care about remixes, all of these remixes are far more enjoyable than the originals to me. sad.

  • Amazing nastiness in the comments. This place is really starting to bore me.

  • i still have love to give on my comments – the nastiness is produce by empty people don’t worry . but there s love in here as well . like life . you have to deal with everything .

  • yes sir

  • =)

  • *** but there s love in here as well . like life . you have to deal with everything . ***

yyyuuup! life is funny, how i can be so happy over very little things.

    :-)

  • Like the Separator remix best out of all these so far

  • i thought it was my unconditional love for kieran ‘s music but i think is a lot more than that . separator four tet is one of the ones i really want to go back to listen to often . very often . very . specially when ” that part ” comes, i melt in the sound waves .

  • but you know what ? – now i go back to the feral lone rmx with different speakers than the previews ones and i am enjoying it a lot as well – i think it really is about sound quality you use and volume of the piece [ remember rmxs should melt us in rhythm and weirdness ] , and then them all do their own job . anyway . similar with the king of limbs album , so i guess this whole makes lot of sense .

  • @ P,

i can see the reflection of the people looking at the sign, including the person’s taking the picture, interesting post. is that the life you’re living, or you wish to? if you don’t mind. :)

  • that’s brilliant p

  • for some reason, they remind me of the lyrics of Fitter Happier…..

  • If only you haters were at the club right now with DJ Yorke himself smoking up some of that fine Radiohead special, I think you’d all easily come to understand how these remixes are far and away superior to anything on the original King of Limbs.

  • *** yyyuuup! life is funny, how i can be so happy over very little things. ***

of course that can’t be a full story, only a snap shot, a sound bite, a clip image, a moment…..

  • It would be nice if there’s a discussion forum in AtEase’s Song Archives (songs & lyrics). I found myself having some trouble to interpret meanings of some songs, like the Separator….etc

  • primalchaos that s the life i try to live , that s the life i wish to live and when i am not feeling that way that s the life i enjoy watching or feeling when other people are living it . a bit of everything . . . . . . .

that was a picture i took at a moma museum in NYC

  • wow for the new Modeselektor with thom ! ! ! good tracks ! !

  • @Kid Amnesiac

“If only you haters were at the club right now with DJ Yorke himself smoking up some of that fine Radiohead special, I think you’d all easily come to understand how these remixes are far and away superior to anything on the original King of Limbs.”

You must have been smoking something really special to think these are better

  • p, thanks for sharing your thoughts, that sounds like a carefree life…. i also daydream that kind of life, as lots of people do, but i’m no longer an innocent ignorant soul. with knowledge, i can’t possibly ‘criticize never’. i can’t sit there being indifferent, no compassion, no sympathy or empathy toward injustice and abuse, those things make me criticize and motivates me to regain balance, after all extremities have been played out. my criticism/motivation become part of the elements/organism to shift things back a little. at least this is how i view things for now…..

i stopped by moma museum last time i was there, too bad not enough time…..

  • Four Tet’s New Track ‘Locked’ is yum yummm……..

  • @ p,

my post is generally applied to social or cultural issues, not to personal level, sorry if i didn’t make it clear.

  • *** i can’t sit there being indifferent, no compassion, no sympathy or empathy toward injustice and abuse ***

oh, goodness, my English sometimes…. :P

i meant to say “against” injustice and abuse, i think you gather that. :P

  • Right the FAT at PleaseCouldYouStopTheNoise

Yeah, flacid dumb thighs, THE RADIOHEAD SPECIAL!
“Please Could You Stop the NOISE”? Wigga please! Make me repeat myself then you are the noise! By the way, for those of you who are seriously interested, the Radiohead Special is actually a hybrid of the old Method Man special that first originated in Harlem back in 2001. Much much greener, and the way it grows so fast we might have to start calling it The King of Limbs because it won’t stop supplying. So very similar to this still new Radiohead album and all these electronic-minded friends of it.

  • **** but i’m no longer an innocent ignorant soul ****

After careful examination and analysis, “but i no longer have an innocent ignorant mind “, more fitting.

  • **** Radiohead Special is actually a hybrid of the old Method Man special that first originated in Harlem back in 2001. in plain words, good or bad dope?

ps. Old Radiohead Special = old Method Man special, brilliant……

    ;-)

  • yuh, it’s good. worthy of the title.

  • How is S.O.B spelled in full?

  • I dunno. You still working out at the airport?

  • oh, sorry, i “forgot” ur Kid Amnesiac, forgot spelling?

what’s this? a Facebook msg board about something personal? sheesh….

  • no no, srry for the confusion. I’m just trying to suggest maybe trying the 2 albums at the same time. n this is obviously something personal. don’t you see the rage? don’t you feel the hate?

  • which 2 albums?

  • It has been pretty dead on the Radiohead news the past couple of weeks. I expect another dry month or so and then BOOM a big full fledge Fall Tour……….

    Dreaming I know

  • @Kid Amnesiac

    I was there… LET-LA second time
I love dj thom yorke :-)

  • to Please Excuse Me,
    Kid A and Amnesiac
or OK Computer and Windowlicker (which is tech a single i know)
    or Amnesiac and In Rainbows
or King of Limbs and Kid A
    for that matter

make sure if you’re using CD players they run at the same speed. maybe have a friend over to help you make sure you’ve started both official albums at the same time

at knivesout, alright alright, you feel where I’m talkin bout. party at the moon on a stick tower

  • Kid Amnesiac, thx for such a creative suggestion. I would pick Amnesiac + In Rainbow, they both share similar run time, except Amnesiac runs about a little over a min., I’ll have to throw in one of my fav. bonus tracks to merge play smoothly.

  • Sorry, I like all other suggestions but Windowlicker, not quite my choice of music…..

  • wait….. actually i like Windowlicker better the 2nd time listening, first time I was paying attention to the video, that vid. is mad….
    :D

  • To all the Europeans that are standing up to the Government and standing up for liberty for the humans. God bless you.

  • I mean I try to be open minded, especially when it’s suggested by some Radiohead fans here. But honestly, I won’t sit there listen to some of them ever, even never heard of, if that wasn’t typed here. Some are actually offensive if you ask me……

  • * I mean I try to be open minded with people’s choice of music

  • @please excuse me,

ur a silly blind fool….. you’ll follow anything, mind you, blind loyalty does not gain you respect.
