Thom Yorke & Nigel Godrich debut new songs in Atoms For Peace DJ Set

Thom Yorke & Nigel Godrich have been DJ’ing tonight at the The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Los Angeles. The duo debuted new tracks during the set.

After the opening of the Stanley Donwood exhibition at Subliminal Projects Gallery an afterparty was scheduled at MOCA in LA with Gonjasuffi, Ana Caldaron, as well as Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich (Nigel: “We’re Djing at Mike D’s bash”). The two under the name Atoms For Peace played 5 new songs with Thom Yorke vocals. And it all points out to tracks from the highly anticipated Atoms For Peace album.

Atoms For Peace is live band of Thom Yorke, which includes Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and Red Hot Chili Pepper bassist Flea. A new album was in the works, but till today there was no sign of new material. Thom & Nigel also played a Lotus Flower remix, but below is the new work…

  • FUN

  • hmm not very…stimulating or pre-AFP album…educational. ie, ‘wah wahhhh’

  • woohoo! may-may!

  • Atoms for Peace karaoke

  • Meh… nothing great…

  • dull. it’s going to be no eraser that’s for sure.

  • Nice. Haven’t got a clue what Thom is saying though. I have a feeling 1 or 2 of these may be remixes of original AFP tracks, only really because there’s no noticeable bass from Flea. I was quite looking forward to an album with the whole AFP band, but I don’t really mind if a couple of songs are just Thom/Nigel.

  • better than radiohead’s new material imo

    • But you’re here, uh? smelling the news…….

  • These songs probably aren’t what we’re going to hear on the album. They’re probably just versions for the clubz. I added a z to that.. I’m badass.

  • DJ’ing is such hard work. Put a playlist together beforehand, push play on laptop, and then stand up on a pedestal in front of everyone to just watch you…yeah, that’s not awkward. And the songs are pretty boring too.
