The Creep animation took 3 months to make, and contains over 1 million keyframes. I know this because I counted them. I counted them because I made the animation and delivered every one of those baby keyframes.

Creep was created as an escape from a lot of negative stuff going on around me at the time. My job as a senior designer in a multimedia agency was well paid and comfortable, but it was also killing meh. Every day spent in the run down converted office, churning out banal multimedia and animation for faceless, lifeless, clueless blue-chips was taking its toll on my soul.

So that kick-started www.lowmorale.co.uk a series of animation reflecting the despair that myself and other peeps in the office felt. The central character is a little guy who gets yapped at by co-workers so much, that eventually he just tops himself to escape the situation. In a twisted way, the animations were probably a cathartic exorcism of the sub-conscious suicidal tendencies my life situation was stirring...either that or I just wanted to take the piss out of the sales force.

It then struck me that the Low Morale character might suit a video of some sort. An ambition of mine has always been (and still is) to do a Radiohead music vid. I started experimenting by animating the character lip sync a bit of 'creep'. 3 months and 3 mental breakdowns later, and the whole video was done.

The reaction has been nothing short of stupid. And when I say stupid I mean fantastic. Apart from knocking my hosting out twice, it has led to some really cool things so far. I'd like to thank everyone who has emailed comments, and given me support/help, I really do appreciate it. Unfortunately I haven't had any direct feedback/contact from Radiohead themselves. I have spoken briefly to W.A.S.T.E who all seemed to really dig it, but nothing further has come of it sadly.

Creep became the reason I quit my full-time job (oh...such a sweet feeling) and am now running 'Monkeehub' www.monkeehub.com as an animation and creative agency. Admittedly I'm the only guy in the Monkeehub agency at the mo, but I can put on different accents over the phone to make it sound like there are loads of us. Through Monkeehub I want to work on more music vids, and work with creatively rich and quality projects. I'm currently developing a new music video for an emerging British band called 'Nizlopi'.
