Another Radiohead tribute album in the works

German music site Visions claim the Roots' drummer and producer ?uestlove is working the together with James Poyser as the Randy Watson Experience on a cover of Radiohead's 'Exit Music (for a film)'

The track will be part of a forthcoming Radiohead tribute on the BBE Records label. The earlier reported version of Mark Ronson and Alex Greenwald of 'Just' will be included on the album as well.

One of the other contributing artists Bilal, told The Couch Sessions: "Although most people consider me the go to guy for all things UK, I've never been a huge fan of Radiohead. I've just never been that depressed to get into their music. I would still take OK Computer or Kid A over X&Y for a listen any day, but I can't say that I have the whole Radiohead collection in my possession. Having that said, "High and Dry" is probably one of my favorite songs from the band and it's about time that someone did a Radiohead remix album. (I actually floated around the concept 2 years ago to no avail.)

This track is from an upcoming BBE records Radiohead remixed album that's rumored to have ?uestlove, 9th Wonder, and the usual crew associated with the project. I'm anxiously awaiting the results." [thanks Oliver]

It has come to w.a.s.t.e's attention that tickets for a bogus show on the 1st March 2006 in Las Vegas have been sold over the weekend by Ticketmaster.

There is no such show and we are currently investigating why this has happened. We would recommend that those who have purchased these tickets go back to the seller to organise refunds.

Thom & Jonny to play exlusive Big Ask gig

Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood will headline an exclusive gig at Koko in London on May 1st. The show is in support of 'The Big Ask', a Friends of The Earth campaign which is calling on the UK government to take action to control climate change. This will be the first live performance by Thom and Jonny for over a year; Radiohead are currently in the studio working on new music.

The bank holiday show is just one of the highlights of 'The Big Ask Live', a series of concerts taking place across the UK that will feature some of the biggest names and the brightest new talent in British music.

Thom said; "The best thing about 'The Big Ask' for me is the fact that there's no longer this sense of powerlessness, which is what I had for so long about climate change". For the latest information go to www.thebigask.com

Another post from Thom: Big Ask Campaign Video

Thom has made yet another post on Dead Air Space. This time it's just a link to a campaign video (Sticky Question) for the Big Ask.

Sticky Question is the latest video promoting The Big Ask. It has one simple aim - getting people to ask difficult questions about climate change so the Government is persuaded to take action.

Adding to the dishonourable line of sex romp scandals, Sticky Question tells the tale of a naked MP, a leather-clad dominatrix and a cleaning lady with a big question to ask.

Visit www.thebigask.com to ask your MP a sticky question.

Radiohead confirmed for Bonnaroo Festival 2006

Radiohead are now confirmed to headline the Bonnaroo Festival, promoters told Associated Press. As reported earlier, the fifth annual festival will be held from June 16-18 on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee.

Other artists include Tom Petty, Beck, Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Bonnie Raitt, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, Damian Marley, Buddy Guy, The Neville Brothers and Blues Traveler.

Organizers will sell only 80,000 tickets, reducing capacity by 10,000 people to make the event more comfortable, the festival's Web site says. Official announcement, ticket information and more information on the festival will be released later today.

Bonnaroo began mainly as a roots-rock festival in 2002 but has gained respect in the music industry for its commitment to diversity in presenting established artists and newcomers of all eras and genres.
