Thom Yorke released his second single from the 'The Eraser' album. Analyse is out now with b-sides 'A Rat's Nest' and 'iluvya'.
The tracks are available on 12" vinyl and digital download. You can preview and download the tracks (at high quality) at 7digital, which are priced 77 pence per track.
A Slovenian ballet production is touring in Israel and the Netherlands the upcoming month. The dance project features Radiohead's music and is entitled 'Radio & Juliet'
The SNG Maribor production has the following on their website:
"After the successful Tango and Lacrimas, Radio and Juliet, the whole evening dance project of Edward Clug will enjoy us. It was created by the connection of the famous British music group Radiohead (which is one of he most controversial and avant-garde music groups of the last ten years) and the movement (Juliet).
The mentioned music is the sonorous reflection of our time, their text is the reflection of the problematic world in which we live and it is at the same time an important massage for all who are closing their eyes before the truth.
How to find the essence of the man and the woman of today and how to express their desire with the dance is the challenge that Clug and his dancers will be faced with." [thanks Gon]
Thom Yorke's "Analyse" accompanies the end credits of Christopher Nolan's The Prestige, the Portland Mercury reports.
The paper writes that the inclusion of the track at the end credits makes perfect sense... "Yorke's song is creepy, weird, and great—abstract and affecting, its jarring unease plays alongside a romantic sort of cynicism. It's a killer song, and its unexpected inclusion makes The Prestige a better movie than it'd otherwise be. That's not to discredit The Prestige, which is a solid enough film; it's just too bad that The Prestige doesn't come into focus until its final reel."
Thom Yorke has revealed a surprising choice for his favourite-ever Radiohead song.
Speaking to 'The Culture Show' last night (October 22), Yorke was asked what single moment he would most like to be remembered for.
His response was 'How To Disappear Completely' from 2000's 'Kid A' album. Explaining why, he simply said, "because it's the most beautiful thing we ever did, I think". [from nme]
The Section Quartet doing Radiohead's 'OK Computer' has been reported over and over by now here on At Ease. So let the music do the talking with a video, where the quartet performs 'Just' and 'The National Anthem'
Thom Yorke has threatened to quit touring unless measures are introduced to halt the "ridiculous consumption of energy" involved.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday, Thom vented his fury at the current state of modern-day touring whilst promoting a Friends of The Earth climate change campaign.
"I would consider refusing to tour on environmental grounds, if nothing started happening to change the way the touring operates," Yorke revealed.
"Some of our best ever shows have been in the US, but there's 80,000 people there and they've all been sitting in traffic jams for five or six hours with their engines running to get there, which is bollocks."
As for his own method of transport for reaching distant concert venues, Yorke said: "Long haul flights just feel wrong. I'm trying to figure out a way of getting to Japan by train. I quite fancy that Trans-Siberian whatsitsname but apparently it's a bit scary."
Thom Yorken will call on the government to make UK companies more accountable for their impacts on poor people and the global environment today, in an open letter to MPs in Tuesday’s Guardian.
The letter urges MPs to back amendments to the Companies Bill which would make companies accountable for their social and environmental impacts. The Bill is due to receive its third reading in the House of Commons this week.
The letter references cases concerning Tesco’s workers rights records on fruit farms in South Africa, as well as a recent ActionAid report which detailed alleged environmental and human rights abuses by a subsidiary of UK mining giant Anglo-American at their operation in Ghana.
As Thom already posted yesterday ("weve started the record properly now. starting to get somewhere i think. finally"), Radiohead are back in the studio.
Today, Jonny showed us proof by posting some pictures from the studio on Dead Air Space, as well as a link to Radio 4's In Our Time (Reasons to love the BBC No. 94*)
Thom Yorke will be a guest on BBC2's "The Culture Show" Saturday October 21st at 19.45 GMT.
BBC: Thom Yorke, of Radiohead, gives a rare interview, John Grisham talks about his new book, and South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker give a master-class in how to cause maximum offence.

Radiohead's 'High And Dry' reworked for compilation
On November 14, Hip-O Records/Universal Music Enterprises will release Rhythms del Mundo, a collaborative record that unites members of the Buena Vista Social Club with their pasty white musical brethren including Radiohead, Pitchfork reports.
After obtaining permission from the various bands to modify their material, the Cuban collective (under the guidance of arranger Demitrio Muniz) created brand new backing tracks for the original vocals of songs like Radiohead's 'High and Dry'.
As if all that wasn't special enough, Rhythms del Mundo benefits Artists Project Earth, a non-profit that aids natural disaster victims and helps raise awareness of climate change problems.
Thom Yorke commented on APE's mission in a press release, stating, "We need a law, we need to have the government put climate change in its place. If you leave industry to sort it out on a voluntary basis, that's never going to happen. So everybody if they've got any concerns about climate change has to register that concern with their government officials because it's the only way to go."
Thom Yorke won an award for the best artist campaign and best use of mobile at this year's Digital Music Awards. Both campaigns were for The Eraser. The ceremony is set to be broadcast on Channel 4 on Oct. 21. No clue on where ateaseweb.com ended in the unofficial site category, but for now we know that Muse picked up an award for best official site and best fan site.
